What's the Ultimate Showdown?

For those who qualify, the Ultimate Showdown is a chance to etch their names in Face to Face Games history. Held in February, the tournament will consist of a free Nauctis: the Sunken Realm Limited event with a $1k prize pool. After five rounds of Swiss Sealed and a Top 8 Draft, one player will be crowned the Champion of Ultimate Showdown: Nauctis.

In addition to generous prizing, the winning player will have their name inscribed on the Ultimate Showdown Trophy, and choose a card from their winning deck to be displayed on it until the next time a new Champion is crowned.

How do I qualify?

Starting with the release of Reality Fracture, a new leaderboard will track the match points awarded through in-store events at our Toronto location. At the end of the first Ultimate Showdown Season (January 31st), the 32 highest-ranked players on the leaderboard will receive invites to Ultimate Showdown: Nauctis.

Additional points will also be awarded for either going undefeated at any event* or reaching top cut at any Regional Championship Qualifier or Sunday Showdown.

What's a Sunday Showdown?

Sunday Showdowns run back over a decade for Face to Face Games, starting in 2015 as a way for competitive players to gather and duke it out against the best the local scene has to offer. While they've been absent for some time, the return of the Ultimate Showdown also brings with it the return of Sunday Showdowns, held on select weekends at the Toronto store from November through January

These Constructed tournaments will feature a variety of formats including Modern, Pauper, Legacy and Premodern. For this first returning season, the winner of each tournament will also receive a special prize: A special, alternate-art Cavern of Souls.

Looking to the Future

This is season 0 of the new Ultimate Showdown, returning bigger and better than ever! Expect updates and improvements throughout 2027, as the program evolves and grows to Montreal and beyond!
